FINE ART AND CRAFT

In spring of 2005 I had the first of two life changing traumatic brain injuries from accidents.  I clawed my way back to a new normal refocusing my life as a theatre artist from performing/directing to playwrting.  With tremendous effort and incredible support I received an MFA in creative writing from the University of New Orleans.  My thesis play, "Have a Heart" won the 2010 Kennedy Center ACTF Jean Kennedy Smith Award and I was honored with a week long residency at the center in DC.  Two weeks later a car I was riding in was hit by a truck.  Ahhhhhhh Life!

In desperate need of creative expression and often literally at a loss for words, I began to explore color, shape, texture, communication of meaning, and emotion through any materials I could get my hands on.  In time I settled into working in ceramics, fiber art, mixed media digital/watercolor painting and photography.  I have been blessed with an unexpected second chapter I now can't imagine being whole without.  I'm incredibly grateful to have been reprisented by Act I Gallery and Cisneros Arts in Taos, NM, Ravenhurst Studio in Cleveland, OH and hARTworks on Etsy.
